About the School and the Project...

Canyon State Academy
is a school for homeless boys who need opportunities for treatment and skills development that will change the direction of their lives. The 173-acre campus in Queen Creek, Arizona offers a variety of program venues...that provide a continuum of care that is both nurturing and challenging.

For my Eagle Service Project, I will be coordinating Christmas Gifts for 28 of the young men at CSA. We will be providing gifts for each boy along with other treats and cards to be delivered on December 16th. We need folks to help by donating gifts or money to purchase gifts.

The Christmas Party will be on December 16th at 6:00pm. Everyone is invited to join us at the party when we give the boys their gifts and have a small dinner with them. It will be a great chance to see their faces and get to know these boys. Please RSVP soon so we can give CSA a headcount for dinner.

Thanks in advance for your help with this great service at this special time of year.

How You Can Help...

DEADLINE TO DROP OFF GIFTS IS MONDAY, DECEMBER 14th.

1. Once you have your items purchased, you can drop them of at my house: 3023 E Janelle Way in South Gilbert (corner of Higley Rd and Chandler Heights) or send me another eMail or call me at 480-668-3428 and I will come pick them up. Please do not wrap your items so we can do a complete inventory. We have another volunteer group that will do the wrapping.

2. If you live farther away, or would prefer, we will gladly accept cash donations to purchase any remaining gifts needed and wrap them for you and deliver to the boys at the Party. Please eMail us first, then send a check made out to Pam Jorgensen (my Mom) to 3023 E Janelle Way, Gilbert, AZ 85298. Or use our new PayPal link at the top right of this page.

NOTE: As a requirement of my Eagle Project, please note how much time it takes you to complete this task (including travel time, shopping and dropping off of your gifts) as well as how many people were involved. (eg. a Family of 4 spends 2 hours total = 8 man hours).
